Yaki and Yumi, OLD SCHOOL
Whilst cleaning out some of my computer folders, I stumbled upon these very early drawings I had done of Yaki and Yumi. Nickelodeon at one point announced that they were looking for 30 second interstitials where they could introduce new characters…I came up with this concept, but soon after I finished it, it was announced that they had canned 30 second intersitial idea. The great thing about it for me, was that I got to see if I could come up with a way to communicate my new characters in a very limited amount of time. Yaki and Yumi have definately come a long way since then!

Wow ALiki these are pretty good! I like the new character version MUCH better! But Yaki looks pretty much the same. Yumi’s the one who looks like she changed. Keep up the good work!ps.. did Korea get the note about the hands? lol Take care!

Caroline, I agree with you - it’s a very funny scenario and clever way of depicting the characters.

I agree that the physical development of the characters have improved, but this icecream cone head idea (the way that cone is stuck in his mouth and his expression, etc) is very clever and very funny nonetheless.
