Hey there Yaki and Yumi Fashizzle Dizzle!! I have two fampabulous backgrounds designs to share with you! The first one is a pan where Yaki and Yumi are walking down the street as Yaki is ranting about being hungry, and Yumi is eating everything in sight!
The second one is the interior of the arcade where Yaki gets a job, and Yumi enters a “Dance, Dance Celebration” contest! (I am sure you know many bats and dragons who behave exactly the same way, right?)
If you click on the images they will appear larger, if you then scratch and sniff your computer screen you will see it smells like strawberries.

Thanks for sharing with the class!

Thanks you guys, I will make sure Paul sees this, so he can feel all warm and squishy inside!

Hey Jeff. Hope all is well with you. I worked with you on Chuck Jones’ Timberwolf many moons ago, so I thought I’d give you a shout out. Happy Holidays and all that stuff.

Aliki,
Love the street scene….could be anytown USA !!
The arcade looks like fun too…….particularly with all the vivid colors. Can’t wait to see the characters and stories in action.

Aliki, It looks awesome!!! I love the cars at Mike’s and Ellie’s Sew shop is soo cute. I really really like the snack shop everything looks soo yummy!!!

I love the colors and the detail!
Looks like Yaki and Yumi are very alive and well in Korea! They are doing a fabulous job!
xoxo

Actually, FYI>> althouth the animation is being done in Korea, the background design and color was done here in Burbank by noneother than Mr. Paul Stec!

Aliki - I’m so excited for you as I
see the project come closer and closer
to fruition. (Actually, I just wanted
an excuse to use the word “fruition.”)

Sweet Georgia Brown! Those BG’s are off da’ chain Aliki! It’s so great to see it coming together so well. Did I mention I love the colors? No? Okay then, I love the colors. The tagging on the walls was a nice touch too! Reminds me of my youth in East L.A.

Great job Aliki!

It was very interesting and enjoyable to see this happen from beginning to end. I hope this turns into something warm and endearing that young children of today will still have fond memories of in their

Is Ellie’s Sew Shop a tribute to mom? Where is Argyrios’ House of Dopio Expresso?

Everything looks awesome!

hahahahaha…well, I figure dad has so many references in the show i.e. “yellow #5″ and “can you believe this guy?” that I should give mom something too!

Well thanks, but I can’t sew. Now if it said Ellie’s Big Fat Greek bakery….. ;-)

The background of both scenes has so much character. It really feeds those of us who love detail and interesting use of colors. I had a such a laugh over “A Pizza The Pie” no doubt owned by Italian immigrants. “Hey! EEt-sa ni-sa place!”

The show looks like it’s going to be great! But something must be wrong with my computer, because when I scratch and sniff I only get raspberry. Not that there’s anything wrong with raspberry. I mean who doesn’t like raspberry?

I love this little street. The Pizza there is SO good! They have specials on Tuesday nights.

Finally I get a chance to comment on this amazing creation! It is so exciting to see this coming together - love the characters and love these scenes - the cars are great. A great backdrop for what sounds like a story line I can relate with!
