Yaki and Yumi

Yummy Yumi!

I have been working on character turnarounds while waiting to get my network notes on my storyboard. I had a hard time getting Yumi to where I was really happy with her. So I pulled my fellow creator aside, Adam Henry (of “Krunch and The Kid”) and asked him to lend me a fresh eye (or two). He suggested lengthening the neck some, and we sat and drew on post-it notes playing with design ideas. One of the best things about working with many creative people is sharing ideas and being open to suggestions. I cut up the original drawings and threw some post-it notes on top and had some fun implementing the ideas we came up with. I am really happy with the result! Thanks Adam!

i love it! actually, i want to marry it! yumi looks so cute . and, the longer neck looks like it will be easier to come up with great poses for her that will read really well . like the great s-curve thats going on in the back view. yippie for aliki!

Thanks for the nice comments. It’s easy making something better that’s 99% great and only needs a little nudge to be 100% great! You can call me your little nudge!

Hey Aliki, I love this character and I shrink her to pocket size! I can’t listen to your voice cauz I don’t have the speakers hooked up to my desktop at work, you know my computer skills. Your work looks fantastic!

Good turn

Ilove the side view curve of her new neck!
Great suggestion!

Thank you for the info!

Great stuff! It’s so great getting to know you A - you are so talented and fun! I wish we were there more often for more lunches. Keep up the great work.
