RANDOM CARTOONS SCREENING
FIRST I WANT TO WISH DIANE & DANA, ADAM AND PEN GOOD LUCK THIS EVENING WHEN YOUR SHORTS ARE SCREENED.
THIS IS AN EXCITING TIME FOR ME PERSONALLY BECAUSE 23 YEARS AGO ON MAY 16, 1983, THE ORIGINAL FINSTER’S BLACK AND WHITE, PENCIL TEST VERSION OF “STORE WARS” WAS SCREENED BEFORE IT’S FIRST AUDIENCE. ALMOST TO THE DAY. IT IS 5 MINUTES LONG. CHUCK JONES WAS PRESENT; WHOM I PITCHED MY BOARD TO, PRIOR TO ANIMATION PRODUCTION.
MY BUDDY, HILARIOUS PAT VENTURA ALSO SAW THE FIRST “STORE WARS” AT CAL ARTS. THE VERY TALENTED GARY CONRAD, WHO ALSO WORKED ON OH YEAH CARTOONS AND DIRECTS FOP WAS IN MY FRESHMAN CLASS.
I WANTED TO SHARE THIS HISTORIC MOMENT OF MINE WITH YOU ALL.
I WISH EVERYONE CONTINUED SUCCESS AND FUN!
SEE YOU ALL LATER!
AND AGAIN; GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

Jeff, I can’t tell you how much I wish I could be there to see it. I don’t think anyone who is as funny, boisterous, charming, smells nice (I’m guessing) and delightful as you could make a bad cartoon. Best of luck…make em laugh…..
