Freeeeeze Gopher!
Here’s the most recent wrong Chipmonk. He has some hair and lighting issues, the team is still trying to crack his hair lighting and stuff. I’m only showing you the chipmonk because he’s the least finished of all the characters…the other ones look really cool.
Why am I doing this? Mostly to make the team look bad. Humiliating 3D artists is good for their life development. Speaking of humiliating life development, I walked into the Frederator break-room today and there is Jeff DeGrandis gouging the top of a chocolate chip muffin, leaving the less-tasty bottom for someone else. I picked up the muffin bottom and looked at it up close…and there was one of his sickening knuckle-hairs sitting on the pastry. This is the kind of thing that we have to go through being on the same floor with Jeff DeGrandis.

That was Jeff!! I seriously was wondering who did that
I had half that muffin in the morning (hopefully before the sickening knuckle hairs). Oh. And Doug. Chipmonk looks sweeet.

I might be able to offer some help to you on the hair/fur issues if I knew more about how you guys were creating the hair/fur.
If you want to, shoot me an email: floyd (at) bishopanimation (dot) com
Things I would be interested in knowing are: what kind of software are you using, what kind of lights you have in the scene, etc.
You may need to light the hair and the rest of the character seperatly, creating a “hair light” that only lights the hair or fur.

Thanks for the help Floyd, I passed your info onto the team…it’s not going to do me any good since I’m limited to just being a paper and pencil guy.
Next week, we’re getting one of the Shrek texture guys working on some of our backgrounds. Keep giving us feedback, we have a very open-minded, humble team here.
