Welcome To The Annie Awards Or, …
… as it’s known in our house, Passover.*
While Frederator cartoons came up short in tonight’s Annie Awards, it was still pretty fun and the guys looked very dapper.
That’s Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! creator Bob Boyle, above, with Wubbzy composer Brad Mossman, Wubbzy storyboard artist James Burks, and Bob’s better half, Teri Shikasho, who is also the show’s color supervisor.
Bob was up for Best Animated Production (winner: Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends) and Production Design in a TV Show (winner: Martin Ansolabehere for his work on Foster’s).
Butch Hartman – he’s on the right here, with Peter McHugh of the Gotham Group talent agency – was there to represent his show The Fairly OddParents, also up for Best Animated TV Production.
And, finally, Pen Ward was nominated for “Adventure Time” in the Best Animated Short Subject category (winner: Blue Sky’s “No Time for Nuts”). Here he is squinting with his ma, Fred Seibert, and a guest.
Congratulations to the nominees and winners. See you in 2008.
– Eric
* And thanks to Bob Hope for that corny joke.

Well, I’m sorry to say this but I’m not surprised Fairly Oddparents didn’t win. The show has gone downhill. I hope this gives Butch Hartman extra incentive to improve the show with the new episodes. No more jerky Cosmo would help. Better luck next year.

While I freely admit that I also love Craig McCracken’s work, I believe the two shows were both deserving of such awards. As for the show going downhill, I’ll have to disagree. Fairy Idol was not my favorite of the movies, but School’s Out! The Musical and the later episodes are quite amazing. I’m so glad to also hear that we will be able to watch new episodes again soon!
You go, Butch Hartman and Nick! Keep at ‘em! Me and mine are rooting for you over here!!

Thank you MK.

Oh come on. Fairy Idol was way better than School’s Out. That had too many songs and too little plot IMO. Some of the songs were headache producing, lol. Abra Catastrophe and Fairy Idol are my 2 fave FOP movies, they are EXCELLENT. And I say again the later episodes were bad compared to the earlier ones. But maybe good ones are coming again thanks to FOP coming back. Make it happen Frederator! I hope you can!

I myself enjoy the non musical episodes.

I think all the episodes fall into different categories, they all have a certain thing that make them unique and enjoyable whether they’re musical or not. They’re all great!

I have to agree about the episodes not being up to par. Hope the new ones will be better. FOP was better in the beginning. How about a little more positive vibes between Wanda and Cosmo. Just a suggestion.

Adventure Time got pulled out of YouTube after the Annies! What happened?
On February 13th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Tom, it’s nothing to do with the Annies. The “Adventure Time” short film is financed and owned by Viacom (Nickelodeon’s parent) and as you might have read, Viacom asked YouTube to remove *all* of its copyrights from the YT site. We’ve posted AT on Viacom-owned http://addictingclips.com. (http://www.addictingclips.com/Clip.aspx?key=4142CAA51851D73C)
