Robbing Rob’s Robot

November 21st, 2006

They way staffing up the individual Random! shorts works is this: the creator lets us know whom they’d like on their crew. Simple. Once in a while, though, he or she will ask us for some recommendations for anything from color stylist to background painter. When they do, almost always the first names I throw out have been artists on Rob Renzetti’s My Life as a Teenage Robot. Rob has an unbeliveable eye for talent, and if an artist has worked for Rob, well, that’s pretty much all you need for a resume. Now at the very end of this season, we’ve finally persuaded Rob himself to come on board and assume directorial duties on about 60% of one of Random!’s more challenging shorts, 6 Monsters. Thanks, Rob.

And thanks to all the former Robot artists who have lent a hand or two this season:

Alex Almaguer, Robert Alvarez, Bryan Arnett, Jenny Gase-Baker, Sean Edberg, Bill Flores, Chris Hacker, Sunil Hall, Joseph Holt, Shawn Holt, Seonna Hong, Alex Kirwan, Robert Lacko, Leticia Lacey, Randy Myers, and probably some other folks whom I’m not remembering just now.
