Happy 100th, Animation

April 6th, 2006

Thanks to James Stuart Blackton and his short film, “Humorous Phases of Funny Faces”, today, April 6, 2006, we can celebrate 100 years of animation. I celebrated the anniversary by attending the final mix (where the sound levels of the dialog, sound effects, and music are brought in line) for “Hornswiggle” (funny how fate would have Jerry Beck finish his cartoon on this date) as well as getting a view of the final mix for Anne Walker’s “Mind the Kitty”. Both creators are thrilled with their films, which, along with winning the hearts of ten-year-olds, is the most important thing to us. So congratulations to Anne, Jerry, and James for jobs well done.
