Talk to the Snail

As Dr Froyd co-creator Jaime Diaz is winding down the storyboard phase of the short’s production, he’s winding up the character design phase. I swiped the above rough art off his desk for posting. One of the reasons I love Jaime’s art so much is that it reminds me of work by one of my favorite cartoonists, Jaime’s fellow countryman, Argentinean Guillermo Mordillo. Jaime says he can’t see too much similarity (although he, too, is a big Mordillo fan). The color image above is a piece by Mordillo. A little bit down the line, as Dr Froyd enters the color stage, I’m sure I’ll be posting more art by both Jaime and Mordillo.
