Five Annie Nominations For Frederator

December 5th, 2005

It’s true. ASIFA-Hollywood has released its list of nominees for the 33rd Annual Annie Awards, the animation industry’s Oscars. And, like last year and the year before that, you can’t throw a dart at the list without hitting a nominee from Frederator Studios. Here they are:

Best Animated Television Production - My Life as a Teenage Robot

Character Design in an Animated Television Production - Bryan Arnett, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Ernie Gilbert, The Fairly OddParents

Directing in an Animated Television Production - Gary Conrad, The Fairly OddParents

Production Design in an Animated Television Production - Alex Kirwan, My Life as a Teenage Robot

Hats off to all. Also, a big congratulations to FOP creator Butch Hartman as well as to Rob Renzetti, the man behind Teenage Robot.

Tomorrow I’ll highlight some art by the Robot boys, but tonight here are a trio of stills from the FOP short “The Good Old Days” for which both Ernie and Gary received their well-deserved nominations. (To make it even more in the family, Ernie has been designing on Adam Henry’s Oh Yeah! short, “Krunch and the Kid”, while Gary’s been in the director’s chair for the OY! cartoon “Ivan the Unbearable”, created by Andrew Dickman. Thanks, guys.)

Annie winners are announced in beautiful Glendale, CA, February 4.
