During our weekly round of golf, Brad and I started talking about BG style ideas for “Summerteeth.” The idea of collage came up and was dismissed at first. A few holes later (and a good amound of missed putts), collage became the way to go.
Summerteeth is itchin’ to be heard. He’ll have to wait until the auditions come back later this week to get his wish, though. Awww…looks like a couple of dopey kids from Summerteeth’s class have buddied-up so they can go into the Museum of Cowboys and Dinosaurs. But who’ll buddy-up with Summerteeth? As for the cartoon, the board has been pitched for the last time. I’m incorporating the final notes from the Frederator braintrust into the board as well as working through the character designs. Whowsy woo woo! It’s a page of storyboard! Well, the storyboard is complete (at least I think it is). All that remains is a final pitch of the boards Tuesday afternoon. Why are Socko and Summerteeth laughing? Who knows? Probably laughing at you..or me….or something from page 35.
Kicking off this blog is tough…so here we go, head first into the shallow end. (I should bribe Melissa to write these things after that introduction she wrote Tuesday). Here’s some doodles of Summerteeth, the star of this picture show. I’ve been hammering out just what exactly he looks like. In the storyboard right now, sometimes he’s a big toe, sometimes an egg, and other times just a cereal box with ker-razy straws for limbs. In my heart, I think he’s at his best as the big toe. ~Erik
