Hello! Long time since I’ve posted anything. Been a bit discouraged since my lack of acceptance into Cal Arts… Anyways, I’ve decided to give up animation.

C’mon, of course not. I’ve recently decided to re-design my Ace & Aqua characters. The new designs are much more natural cartoon drawings. The designs I had in my Ace & Aqua short were way too “perfect” and I wanted to have a design that felt natural and looked like the sketches I made, not the perfect vector clones I made over those sketches… I’m surprised at my progress. The drawings on the left are from 2006, the middle ones 2007 and the new ones 2009. I wonder what they’ll look like in 2011. The left and middle designs had a perfect 1 line around them so I decided to give something more natural and went with some tapered lines that surprisingly make a HUGE difference.  Too bad I didn’t have these designs for my first short… no need to despair

Here’s a character drawing for an idea I have. I’ve been pitching it around, but still have not thought of any good names. Let’s keep it at Nerd/Jock Idea for now The Jock side looks a little too generic.. gotta work on that.
