Fearsome Creatures & Frontier Gentlemen
Layout by Edward Juan
What this story is about:
Conrad Canard, a frustrated monster hunter, ventures into the Pacific Northwest in search of the legendary Bigfoot. Instead, he bumps into Sam, an earnest helpful youth who happens to be a diminutive sasquatch. Now, with fame within his grasp, Conrad will stop at nothing to capture him. Sam, mistaking Conrad for a persistent theater agent, must convince him that he belongs in the forest and not on the stage.
Mr. Baker gave voice to all the creatures in the short. They will remain anonymous, for now, out of a misplaced sense of drama. Thanks to the talented cast, casting director Meredith Layne, voice director Ginny McSwain, and director director Larry Leichliter. Max was downright hilarious. And I was happy to get the voice of Spottswoode and Cosmo, in the same actor no less.
Today the dialogue was polished and shaped to fit during the editing session with Michael Petak. While he ironed out kinks and transposed lines I concentrated on not getting distracted by his ludicrous album covers screensaver. The end result was like a rough radio play complete with interruptions where I pause to reflect on the story in my best radio voice. Then the whole thing concludes with an hilariously appropriate song fading in to close the show. Probably something like, I dunno, Apeman by the Kinks … hmm, none of this makes sense unless you listen to This American Life. The session ended with the crafting of a humorous Thunderbird-spewing-lightning sound. We hope you’ll enjoy it. Eventually. ‘Cause I didn’t actually post it.
For your perusal, a short episode from the life of Trick Corn, Fakesquatch.![]()

My original posted comment on this, which was brillant, has been lost in some paralel bigfoot universe, so I will try again.
My reaction to this posting is Holy edifcation and illumination Batman!. Great job. Thanks for indulging me with the plot summary, and I enjoyed the clips and the voice cast info as well. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
