The Kelv Enthusiast: Gorillas vs. Bears
Back in September, I blogged about a print illustration project I’m working on called “The Kelv Enthusiast”. To recap; I’m doing a series of drawings that will illustrate the strange history of a fictional country I created called Kelv (so far East in Eastern Europe that it’s in another dimension).
One of the major events of Kelv was The Battle of the Gorvanc Plains which occurred in 1309. Basically here’s what happened; enemy empires to the north and south of Kelv were too cowardly to fight one another so they sent forth enormous armies of beasts to battle. The north sent bears and the south sent gorillas.
They clashed and fought for days, and blood stained the earth. However, the armies were so evenly matched that the only survivors were one bear and one gorilla. What happened then? Read the next blog to find out.
**What the hell is this all about? It’s an excerpt from my upcoming magazine piece “The Kelv Enthusiast” to be published in Mammal Magazine, Spring 2007. Tune in for details.
