Hey, FOFOP (Fans of the Fairly OddParents). What you’ve heard is true – you’ll get to see four new OddParents cartoons next week. Every day, Monday through Thursday, there will be a new 11-minute cartoon premiering on Nick at 5:00 p.m. Then, on Friday, all four will be re-shown, back-to-back, from 5:00-6:00. And, to boot, they’re all episodes featuring Poof.

When not singing “Sweet Adeline”, these guys are laborers on The Fairly OddParents. Here, they’re celebrating the large success of Fairly OddBaby, which, if you missed it on Nick, will be re-shown again and again and again (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Say hi to creator Butch Hartman, designer Ernie Gilbert, head writer Scott Fellows, and editor Otto Ferrene.

Baby Poof Breaks Records

February 19th, 2008

babypoof_fairlyoddbaby_screengrab.jpg

So we just got GREAT news from Nickelodeon about how awesomely well last night’s Fairly OddBaby special did. It seems it did really awesomely well, in fact. The ratings are preliminary, and I won’t bore you with most of the facts and figures, but here are just three notes that stand out:

– the highest-rated Fairly OddParents ever
– Nick’s third most-watched telecast ever among kids, 2-11 years old
– Nick’s second highest-rated telecast ever among kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 (higher than any SpongeBob episode, too)

Congratulations to Butch, his fantastic crew, and the folks at Nick for making and breaking records. And thanks to everyone who watched (and it seems like everyone did watch, too).

And even better episodes are on their way.

It’s Been A Long Time…

January 30th, 2008

A really long time, in fact. Excepting a pair of Jimmy/Timmy specials, we’ve seen only two new Fairly OddParents episodes on Nickelodeon since October, 2005. Well, all that will change in nineteen days with the premiere of the one-hour “Fairly OddBaby”. That’s February 18th at 8:00 p.m. Here are a few shots of Butch Hartman pitching a bit of the show’s storyboard back at the beginning of June. FOP’s “FOB” is not to be missed, so glue your hand to your bed now!

The Oddparents are coming! The Oddparents are coming!

December 20th, 2007

Greetings, blog people!! This is Kevin Sullivan, Oddparents staff writer, logging in after many months with apologies for not logging in more over these many months…and with more scoop on the upcoming new season of Fairly Oddparents! I was sitting in our story editor’s office this morning and saw on his wall our homemade index card schedule charting all the episodes we’ve written this year, and it made me realize two things: a) boy, have we been busy, and 2) how come *my* office doesn’t have walls? Seeing all these episodes stacked up made me realize it was high time I checked in with you friends of the fairies to let you know what’s happening.

By now you should be seeing ads popping up on Nick announcing new episodes of The Fairly Oddparents in 2008. I do believe we’re premiering over President’s Day weekend, but if that’s wrong then you didn’t [Read more…]

THE VOICES OF FOP

May 1st, 2007

Hey FOP Fans!
This past week we did our very first recording for our 2007 Season. Things are starting to get very exciting around here. It was great catching up with the very talented voice artists who help bring Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda to life. So, here’s my question, how many of you think you have the chops to be a cartoon?! I asked Tara Strong, Daran Norris and Susanne Blakesley some questions about their job and I thought you’d get a kick out of the answers…

1. What do you do to prepare for your role? Or more specifically, how did you come up with your character’s voice?
