Baby Poof Breaks Records
So we just got GREAT news from Nickelodeon about how awesomely well last night’s Fairly OddBaby special did. It seems it did really awesomely well, in fact. The ratings are preliminary, and I won’t bore you with most of the facts and figures, but here are just three notes that stand out:
– the highest-rated Fairly OddParents ever
– Nick’s third most-watched telecast ever among kids, 2-11 years old
– Nick’s second highest-rated telecast ever among kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 (higher than any SpongeBob episode, too)
Congratulations to Butch, his fantastic crew, and the folks at Nick for making and breaking records. And thanks to everyone who watched (and it seems like everyone did watch, too).
And even better episodes are on their way.
– Eric

I was actually waiting for news about the ratings! Thank you Eric! Whoo!!!! They’re as good as I expected! Even Latin Ameircans that had DISH or any sort of of American television tuned in that day! (Including me, thank goodness) I’d like to thank Nick especially for advertising it so well and building expectation, as well as everyone who made sure to spread the word! This episode was great, I really really liked it! It was different, it was fresh, and it was funny! Can’t wait for the rest of the season! With baby Poof, it’s bound to bring a new batch of adventures! HUGE Kudos to Butch and his crew, they really outdid themselves! A job fantastically well done! I won’t elaborate, I already wrote a rather kilometric review on Butch’s forum (i’m sorry, Butch!) XD;
THANKS A BUNCH FOR THE INFO, Eric!
Keep Rocking!

No, thank you, Feri-san, for the support. That goes for Violet, Cosmo and Wanda Lover, Jenniveve, Superbike, Excited, Weti, Timantha, and all the FOFOPs (Fans of the Fairly OddParents), too.

AWWWWWWW, NOW I’M BLUSHING! I think Poof is just about the most adorable thing ever. The movie was perfect (For some reason, I liked it when Cosmo was pregnant, much funnier than if Wanda was.)
On February 19th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Thought I’d let you in on a secret…I’m not really Timantha, I’m really- AN INTERGALACTIC SPY! Oh, wait, scratch that. Anyway, I agree with Violet, pregnant Cosmo was to funny!Did you guys notice that no one ever told B. Daddy that his daughter has a son now? LOL…poor Big Daddy (And Blonda) have to find out from a news caster
On February 19th, 2008 at 12:00 am
My sister says she doesn’t like it because “Poof looks like a girl! It should have been a girl!” (But I secretly found her flipping through channels seeing if they would play it again.)

I wasn’t able to see it here in Latin America, but it seems somone uploaded it…
Anyway, I loved it! Lots and lots of originality just for that episode. I know it’s going to get even better.
Congrats, guys, and thanks for all the effort you pour into making this awesome series.

Well why wouldn’t it be popular, after the show went on hiatus everyone missed FOP. Plus, fans everywhere have been dying for Cosmo and Wanda to have a baby. My brother says having a new character means that the show has “jumped the shark”. LOL. I beg to differ (babies are cute).
On February 19th, 2008 at 12:00 am
If you wouldn’t mind, I want to see the facts and figures, so I can show people whether this is for real or not.

Mr. Bakosi, sir, all ratings directly from Nielsen Media Research. Analysis by MTV Networks research.

My kids watched it and loved it. My oldest son (age
had it marked on the calendar.

OMG! I love poof. I cant wait to see other episodes with him in it. I give butch major props fo creating a great movie/episode.
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I saw it, and I liked that Cosmo and Wanda seem to love each other again, but I hated the part where Cosmo got pregnant. That was really creepy. Poof is cute but needs a better name IMO.
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Woo-hooo!
People have been eagerly awaiting the return of FOP, apparently; everyone else has already said what I wanted to say, so I’m just gonna do the happy dance XD except that considering the circumstances and the overall attitude of the show and story, I absolutely didn’t mind Cosmo getting pregnant. He’s a fairy! They’re like that.
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
And I congratulate Timantha for guessing the closest to the name (Timantha’s guess was Twinkle)which was given out as an idea in the episode.
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Awesome job Butch n’ Crew!!! I love those records. Do the “all SB episodes” include the one-hour special? Would that mean FOB got more than 8 million viewers?! =D
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bore me with the facts & figures and ratings, I am a Nielsen Ratings freak, I love seeing them and understanding them. I can never find ratings except on Cynopsis and I hate the Nielsen site. If you can post the ratings I’d love that, otherwise I’ll wait until Cynopsis posts them.
Congrats guys and it was an awesome special.

Hi, PhantomPearl. Non-final numbers show K2-11 with a 15.41 rating, K6-11 with a 19.67 rating and T9-14 with 14.85 rating, with an
average of 8.8 million +2. We’ll wait to see what Cynopsis says, too. And, yes, that includes the SB specials.
On February 21st, 2008 at 12:00 am
Thank you so much! And I see that the ratings news has spread to some other press release sites.
*Takes a deep breath* YAAAY 8.8MIL!!!! Wicked awesome!!! *Hugs the ratings, all 8.8mil viewers, and crew*
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
That is awesome, it was a great special as well! Maybe this will lead to another season beyond this one?
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I’ve seen it 3 times. Next time I’m going to watch it outside, where the light is better. And now you’ll have to excuse me, I have a meeting with the Great White Round One.

Well, the Frederator Blog had simply enlightening news to provide! The triumphant return of “The Fairly OddParents” proved to be a hit! It’s good to see that the kids are as happy to see Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda again as I am. I really hope this success continues.
As for the specific ratings, I have to add that there seemed to be more kids watching “The Fairly OddParents” than there were adults watching “Deal or No Deal” on NBC.
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I loved it. More Poof! (but not too much) He is so cute! More FOP! When will the new episodes air?
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
No word, yet, on when the next one will air. My guess is we’ll see half-hours and specials spread out over the next year and a half.
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I know what you are thinking-Violet, your name is great and your a great speller (and I’m flattered really, but could we get on with the topic at hand?)
Have you guys realized that Poof doesn’t have an anti?
On March 17th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Your right Violet Cosmo and Wanda and very fairy has an anti-fairy for example: anti-Cosmo
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I’m so proud of all the FOP crew! Butch Hartman congratulations! I watched the premier it went way beyond my expectations! I can’t wait for future episodes!

LOL, Puff floats around like a balloon! Maybe hes full of oxygen and thats why he’s chubby!
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Wouldn’t that be helium?
On February 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am
I wonder if they will change the theme song to include Poof.
On February 21st, 2008 at 12:00 am
That would be cool. I always just thought if C and W had a baby it would be a distraction from Timmy (remember, the kid who’s not a baby. The one with the hat.)I always figured that was why no one ever decided to have a baby in the show.

Apparently it beat the premier of the original High School Musical and in the kids and tweens age group it was second only to the super bowl in all programs in the last year. Got this info from Mr. Hartman on the forums at butchhartman.com

woah this is GREAT NEWS!!! it was by far the best episode of “Fairly Odd Parents” I have ever seen!!! I loved it when the ice cream man’s head turned into a bunny head when I saw that I laughed so hard I disturbed the peace I also loved the part at the end where the house grew legs and ran off “good thing we’re in shape now we can keep up with our house!” LOL! keep up the great work!
On February 25th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Okay, I’m a very spirited and optimistic person, and I love cartoons. BUT, I gotta say that the new spongebob episodes are really bad. They should show less Spongebob, and more FOP.
On February 27th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Wait- what are the top 3 episodes then?
HA. Take THAT sponge! >:D

I happen to thing that Poof is the cutest baby on Nickelodeon. Maybe even the cutest baby on television. I was very surprised that Cosmo was the one getting pregnet, not Wanda, but you know, they’re fairys and are different from humans where the female gets pregnet instead of the male (like Cosmo did).
