Okay. So, yesterday, I posted a fascinating entry on the oh-so-many countries from where we received cartoon submissions for last year’s Nicktoons Network Film Festival (or, as it was then called, Nextoons: The Nicktoons Animation Festival). As a companion entry, offered to you now is a short rundown of the seventeen US states from whose filmmakers we did not hear in 2005: Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. You know, this list suddenly reminds me of - besides our desire to garner film submissions from every corner of the world - the image of my lovely second wife, Ms Montana Nebraska. If you’re out there, honey, all is forgiven. Come on home.

You want to know one of my favorite things about The Nicktoons Network Film Festival? I didn’t think so. But here it is anyway: the knowledge that filmmakers from literally all around the globe are eagerly participating in this yearly event of ours. In 2005 alone, we received entries from 37 different countries, including: Latvia, Uzbekistan, Israel, China, Iran, and Madagascar. Scotland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Lithuania, Poland, and Argentina. Romania, Croatia, France, …well, you get the idea. A lot of places. If I weren’t so lazy, I’d get a big map, slap it on the wall, and riddle it with pushpins to represent our global reach. Then I could be just like President Muffley with his “big board”.

We Want Your Films. Yes, You.

Okay, The Nicktoons Network Animation Festival Call for Entries began March 15th - twenty-three days ago - and although we’ve gotten quite a few submissions already, we don’t seem to see yours among them. What’s the deal?
