Some folks wanted to see how the characters would look on the backgrounds, so here’s a sample! I took two of my keyframes, colored ‘em and put them on top of more of Craig Elliott’s brilliant bgs.

You can really get a feel for the finished product. The backgound is nicely detailed and drawn like the Sinbad the Sailor Popeye feature…updated style to be sure.

Your stuff is nice, but… This kind of came off to me like it was some sort of college animation screen capture. You can really tell the background was done in 3D. It’s unfitting

Sheesh, some of these guys are being brutal. He said it was a mock-up. I took a line drawing of my guys, photocopied it onto a transparancy, painted it with my kids’ acrylics and put it in front of a photograph, just so I’d have some sort of a feeling of the characters in real space. Looked silly, but I felt great.

Oh my GOODNESS. ^_^ I can’t wait until I see this on T.V. I’m actually planning on being an animator myself… and actually being able to see a work-in-progress show…it’s just exciting for me. Good luck with your cartoon!
