MooBeard: The Cow Pirate

Let’s be direct.

While I’m serving as the creator/producer/storyboard artist/character designer/whatever of the MooBeard short, I won’t be the director. “But Kyle? Why?”, you might ask. After I called security, I would tell you that this is my first real work in television animation, save for some freelance storyboard revisions. While I’ve worked on CD roms and done some flash cartoons for my own amusement, I have no idea how to direct a real television cartoon.

Thankfully, I’ve been able to enlist the help of Jeff DeGrandis! He was my first choice for director, and through some miracle, despite how busy he is, he’s doing it! Jeff has an impressive wrap sheet as it is, but the reason I wanted to enlist his help is because he directed my favorite TV cartoon ever, “The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show”. That show achieved something very similar to what I want to do with MooBeard (particularly in the Pith Possum segments), and so I can ask Jeff how they did specific things so I can make my short work too. He gave my storyboard-in-progress a very thorough review today and gave me lots of invaluable advice on how to get exactly the cartoon I want.

I’m really having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally awesome for you, Kyle. I’m wishing you the most extreme of luck ever imagined bestowed upon someone that Moobeard takes you everywhere you want to go.

Congrats, Kyle! I’m so happy for you! I can’t wait to see the fruits of your labor…maybe someday we will work together again :) I still love the Tea Club story you did for me…I just re-read it the other night, and it’s just as good as it was the first time I read it.

I have the upmost faith in your creativity Kyle. You give Frederator and Nickelodeon your darndest! I’ll be waiting to see your genius light up my television screen.

So too cool awesome. This is so gonna make me almost want to have a TV.

I can get a DVD before too long, though, right?

Kyle, I’m very-very sure that you have a hit in your hands!! Keep it up, hombre!

I really hope this cartoon makes it to Canada somehow.
