It’s Audience Participation Time!

February 21st, 2008

Don’t look so confused and surprised! Everybody does audience participation once in a while! Anyway gang, here’s my question;
Now, think back to the days of pining for that one great toy - you waited all year, maybe it was for the birthday or Christmas or any other holiday. What toy was it you waited and wanted most and finally got OR you didn’t get because you’d shoot your eye or some other such nonsense? Don’t be shy, just step up and answer away!

Then when you’re done answering, get back to opening those toys!

And here we give away how old we are. The toy I wanted the most, ever, was a Mr. Machine. I suspected my mom and dad had bought it for me at Christmas and that it was hiding in the trunk of the car, so I “borrowed” my mom’s car keys, and looked. Sure enough - it was there. Then, waiting until Christmas was TORTURE, but it’s funny that I don’t really remember playing with it as much as I remember wanting it. I guess, as Snoopy once said in a “Peanuts” strip - “the anticipation far exceeded the actual event.”

Wow, a walk down memory lane! The one thing I always wanted but never got was that big yellow barbie dream house, man i wanted that thing! I always put it on my christmas list!

The thing I wanted and did get was a cabbage patch doll, you know that first year when people were killing each other for them! I still have mine! Her name is Cherry Adina and the card that came with her said she wanted to be an artist when she grew up, which I thought was amazing because thats what I wanted to be when I grew up….now I just need to grow up!

This was fun thanks!

I wanted a Muppet puppet from the Muppet Show. My mother bought me Animal, but she had my little twin sisters (who were toddlers) with her when she got it. My sisters kept saying “monster! monster!” I thought they meant Animal, but I couldn’t be sure. When I got it for my birthday, I was thrilled! You put your hand in his back, and up through his head. He even had a switch inside to work his eyebrows. My other cool toy moment was years later, when I got the GI Joe Mobile Command Center for Christmas. It pays to have a family friend that works at Toys R Us and will cut you a deal with their discount!
