Many moons ago, in a smog riddled City known as Burbank, I pitched an idea to Team Fred involving a Mad Scientist Goldfish named Ralph who built a cool fish-bowl headed robot, whom we shall call “Fishbot”.![]()
Fishbot ran on this magical Elixir fuel known to us mere Mortals, as “Root-Beer”, and was near empty. Why Ralph chose Root-Beer is beyond me…
Needless to say, Our heroes found out there was a severe shortage of Root-Beer in their vicinity.![]()
Eventually, Ralph and Fishbot discover a supermarket, the Chip-Mart owned by the swedish Be-clogged Mr.Chip.
Fishbot and Ralph have to get past Mr.Chip and his geriatric security guards, pay for their bottles of Root Beer fuel, and head back to their Underground Shack Laboratory for more weird experiments.
There’s one problem though…![]()
Fishbot and Ralph spent all their money at the local arcade a few days prior to this mis-adventure.
What are our heroes to do?
Maybe some day we will all get to find out.

I learned very quickly about the animation pitching process that producers enjoy ideas that aren’t too cluttered and a little more simpler, straightforward, and clear. Sometimes, my ideas tend to get lofty and a little too epic for their britches. Which is the case with this particular story. While, it might be an interesting story, I feel it is a little complex and has too many characters weaved in. I have some current ideas I plan on unveiling to Team Fred, which I think they might suit better as a solid short or two.
I learned a lot from the “fishbowl” pitch experience and I thought it would be nice to share it and the kernel of insight I received with you all.
