June 12th, 2007

tnn-golf-sc01.jpg

Here is a still from a series of Star Trek promos that I did for TNN a few years ago. (Don’t look for TNN on your cable box, it morphed into Spike TV.) The very talented Tina Potter produced these spots, and the equally talented Travis Pomposello did the music. I will post the actual clips in the next week or so.

Here are the Gross Brothers solving the Mystery of King Tut’s Tomb. The Gross Brothers love solving mysteries. They also love worms, frogs, snails, slugs, mud, science, peanut butter, pieces of string, hamburgers, climbing trees, building stuff, tennis, skateboards, snowboards, camping, history, rockets, and ice cream.

June 8th, 2007

To me, this image’s got Friday written all over it. Hillary is reading her favorite story “Hipporella”. In it, an evil step mother hippo forces her step daughter hippo to do all the chores while the step mother hippo’s not so pretty daughter hippos get to go to the ball.

Here’s a still from my animated short “Parade” that was made 20 years ago. Hard to believe that much time has gone by.
This film played at Zagreb (Chuck Jones was there), MOMA, and a package called STREAMS OF CONSCIENCES put together by George Griffin.

Here’s an “out take” from when I was working on robot designs for the Frederator awards show program. I had a lot of fun drawing robots and got inspiration from “Robots, Tin Toy Dreams” by Terusia Kitahara.

Scientists discovered this wrapper on a dig in Utah. They believe it proves that dinosaurs had the abilty to make chocolate… OK it’s actually a design for a candy bar from a couple of years ago.

2007: Year of the Golden Pig!

June 4th, 2007

I’ve been making Chinese Zodiac cards for about 9 years but this is the first as a block print. There are 12 signs in all so I’ve almost completed the cycle. Your sign depends on the year you were born. I’m a pig which means I’m “nobel and chivalrous”. Find your sign by finding a Chinese take out menu with the signs and traits printed on it, or you can ask me.

Here is a post card circa 1991. Back when Fred was Fred/Alan and he was nice enough to give me a show in his office gallery. Now he’s invited me to join the Frederator Blog and I said yes! I promise I’ll do my best to keep it fresh and also post some art from this century.
