Well this was bound to happen, I’m on to the final few days of production here on Ivan the Unbearable. But no worries! It was great fun! And I still have a few tricks up my sleeve, you just wait [Read more…]
Well, although I don’t want to “spoil” anything, I do want to “be one of the crowd” and show a short clip of the great animatic for Ivan the Unbearable. Here’s a scene from the very beginning, featuring those . Click the link to check out the scene!
Although he was an important character when I first devleoped Ivan long ago, Ingor never made the storyboard I pitched to Frederator because he was just too dang much for the cartoon. Ingor the Ruthless Savage, was to be Ivan’s father, but his role was quickly replaced by the loveable Ma! Which was a better choice anyway. Ingor is now serving a prison sentence in the Nordic penatentiary, where he awaits a possible role in future Ivan works. [Read more…]
You’ve seen this Ivan turnaround before, haven’t you? Back in the day when Ivan was a rusty little scribble on paper. Well now he’s CLEAN! Dana did a wonderful job putting in the necessary line weight for my characters. Now they’re ready for take off!!!… Well, they still need to be colored, what do you think this is, a 1930’s cartoon?
Gary dropped off the slugged storyboard, which we’re going to work with during the animatic tommorrow. All these numbers and bubbles make Andrew confused! I have to hand it to Directors for knowing this kind of stuff with timing and all, it looks like quite a task. I’ll learn it myself one of these days, you just wait [Read more…]
I had no idea… How incredible it feels… when you put your characters together in a beautifully crafted scene like this… I just sit back and look at it and, I’m amazed!
Chris Duncan, who is a masterful bg painter, sent over a couple finished backgrounds today. His work on these backgorunds designed by Antonio is incredible. It’s nice to see how well things work together!
Antonio Cannobio, my BG designer, came in this morning with some wonderful clean ups of the background work for Ivan. Amazing work I say! What’s even better, I’m looking forward to seeing Chris Duncan, my BG Painter to finalize these thangs! We’re getting close to finishing up before this is all sent off overseas for animation… Which means…
I wanted to show samples of the voices to give a feel of what these characters are really like. I can’t wait to see these silly drawings animated to these voices, they’re just perfect!
Ivan knocks on Ma’s Door Here’s a clip of the first introduction of Ma in the cartoon. Jeff is a perfect naive Ivan, and Tress did Ma with such perfection!
Bjorn lays the law Maurice, as Bjorn, did an excellent job! Showing us how intimidating a ruthless security troll can be to a stubby little viking.
I’ll be working with my director on the animatic soon, where (with much hope) squeeze as much as we can without cutting too much out.
From my favorite scene in the entire cartoon, Bjorn runs from a swarm of bees that fly directly around his head. Why, you ask? Well, I’m not here to give you spoilers, I’m here to show you what’s going on [Read more…]
