Jeff Doucette (the brilliant voice of Ivan the Unbearable) surprised me when I spotted him at the Wrap Party on Thursday. It was tons of fun and I enjoyed seeing everyone I had worked with and around when I was producing the short. Vikings fo’ life! I think I was transforming at the time… It was a full moon… wasn’t it?
Jack Sparrow showed a little bit of jelaousy over the barrels of laughs echoed during the screening of Ivan the Unbearable at Nickelodeon Studios. In a sign of good intentions, Jack asked Ivan what was the secret to his success…
Ivan’s most likely going to be seen pillaging and plundering at the world famous Comic Convention this year, he’s already prepared with his state of the art, Star Wars collectors light saber. So it’s official, I’ll be attending Comic Con International San Diego 2006! I’ll also be attending the Random Cartoons Panel on Thursday, hope to see Ivan fans there!
Ivan’s been rather busy lately trying to figure out how to use the dvd player so he can see his cartoon premiere. It’s a shame Ma hadn’t actually bought one yet.
This is all the Frederator cartoon character stars that (I know off so far) and I’ve been wanting to do this piece for awhile actually. Anyhow, I didn’t really color it because I still don’t know many of the color schemes, so left it greyscale. I’m going to update it once I find out about more cartoons in production here at Frederator.
Now that Ivan the Unbearable has been finalized, we look back to days of yore. But ya know, everything goes through changes and that’s what makes a character evolve into something interesting. He is now an icon, a symbol of confidence, strength and accomplishment. [Read more…]
Wow, it’s been awhile since I posted. You’re probably wondering about Ivan and what happened since that fateful day he went out to sea (or not.)
Either way, here’s the skinny. IVAN LOOKS GREAT! Post production started a few weeks ago, starting off with retakes on all the blips and bleeps and that’s and whatsits. Thus another fun filled return of editing to time. I have to say, Ivan is animated wonderfully and the characters are funny with their voices, a true treat for this humble creator.
Now it’s on to the next step, sound effects and music. Mike Taverna is doing the score (along with a theme for Ivan, hee!) and the sound effects are being done at Salami Studios. I can’t wait for it all to come together!
