Mrs. Dusenberry
When I was in Kindergarten, I had a teacher named Mrs. Dusenberry. I loved her name so much, that it has always stuck. My mom was volunteering at the elementry school I went to, when Mrs. Dusenberry retired, and she wrote a song for the class to sing to her. For some reason, I still remember the words and the tune to the song:
“Mrs. Dusenberry we hate to see you go, you taught us to read and write and watched us grow, we hope you have fun and enjoy your rest, but always remember…we love you the best!”
At the time, I was proud of myself for helping my mom find something that rhymed with “best”.
So, here I am maaaany years later, and I get to use this fun name that has stuck in my head for one of my characters. Unfortunately, Kat’s teacher, Mrs. Dusenberry is nothing like my sweet teacher I had in Kindergarten, but I am happy to give her this name!
Please enjoy this clean-up of Kat’s teacher, Mrs. Dusenberry, masterfully done by Millet Henson. I am LOVING Millet’s linework on each of the characters in “Girls on the GO!”

I have to say that chick is kind of hot. I mean she totally looks like the type that is hiding a leather bustier under that “Little house on the Prarie” smock. Let hair down and take her glasses off and “BOOM” you got Rachael Leigh Cook.

Aliki perhaps you should call her Miss Dusenberry — she has the proverbial “Old Maid” kinda look!
