Watch it now! Before it’s too late!

January 10th, 2007

I can’t begin to express how proud we are of all the Random! Cartoons creators (take a look for them all in the right hand column—>) and of course it’s true, they’re all fantastic. But I wouldn’t be out of place to be particularly proud when we get our first nomination of the season: the Annie Awards has nominated Pendleton (Pen) Ward’s Adventure Time as Best Animated Short Subject.

You can judge for yourself why Pen’s cartoon deserves all the accolades it’s going to get (don’t let our opinion about it’s vision, style, freshness, originality, timing, irony, humor, heart, and soul influence you in any way), but I’m going to ask you to watch it now in anticipation of cajoling ASIFA-Hollywood members to vote for it on Monday.

Watch it now! Before it’s too late! Don’t be surprised if you’re looking at the future of the cartoon business (no snarky comments to be inserted, please). Buy your tickets now to be part of history.

-JX!

Just saw this at the random screening and ran right home to watch it again. ‘CAUSE IT’S AWESOME! just one thing. how come no one every pounded on that bitchin’ drum set?

I wondered the same thing! I noticed it in the background

Brilliant! TO THE MAX!!!

Greatest cartoon ever to grace the Nick campus. Pen must be destroyed.

Awesome, Pen!

This is very nice. I kept waiting for the three headed wolf to show up though. Maybe those are his drums?

Saw it last night @ Nick (What can be said that hasn’t?) Keep it goin’ Pen!

Totally Rhombus! I NEEEEED to see a whole series of Adventure Time!!

Love it!

That was sweet! Will there be more???

that was great.

Hey Pen, you did an amazing job man! Slay em, dude! :)

Booties…… Love that! Best of luck Pen.

Algebraic! Even better the 8th time.

AMAZING!!! I LOVE this cartoon! It’s genius! Go Pen Go!

This is by far one of the best new cartoons I’ve seen as far as writing, style, and overall enjoyment. I wish I had a show like this when I was growing up! Well done, Frederator!!!

“oh, my goodness”

How can this cartoon be nominated if it hasn’t even been aired yet? How did it get circulated around the industry for professionals to look at if it’s not suppose to come out before its airing date?

Because it was screened at last year’s Palm Springs Film Festival with two other Random! shorts (”Kitty” and “Bessie”). We didn’t realize it until afterwards, but, according to Annie rules, screening it in a festival before airing on TV disqualified it for any TV category. However, we could put it up for Best Short Subject.

Please make this a series!

Sweet jesus this needs to be a series, i can already name one group of people who would give it a cult following, /b/

OMFG YES

BEST
CARTOON
I HAVE EVER
SEEN.

THIS BLOWS EVERYTHING OUT OF THE WATER ENTIRELY.

The Animation Illuminati has spoken…

This cartoon feels as though it was made just for me. It has rubbery, old school style animation, character designs that need to be made into Vinyl toys and even some retro video game style music for it’s soundtrack. It’s also very quotable!

I totally agree with all you just said. It justifies a series.

After viewing “Adventure Time” my mind was transported back in time…and to Mars. Best cartoon short. No Question. Please tell me there’s more.

My god, this needs to be a series.

This is a fabulous cartoon. My friends and I can’t even believe it.
