My favorites: Huck, Bugs, & Fred.
I’ve been asked hundreds of times about my favorite cartoons. Of course, it depends on what period of life we’re talking about. Reflected back on being a kid it would have to be Huckleberry Hound, Bugs Bunny, and The Flintstones.
I’m 54, so I got the best cartoons (and some of the crummiest) that early TV had to offer. Sure I enjoyed Crusader Rabbit, the classic Popeyes, the TV Felix’s, Courageous Cat (and Minute Mouse), and hundreds of others.
But hard as it is to see from 2006, Huck was the first made-for-TV rockstar cartoon, he really was Elvis. And The Flintstones made every baby boomer kid know that we were going to take over the adult world some day. And Bugs? Well, he was Bugs, wiseass supremo!
More from other animated life passages yet to come.

Oh man! I LOVED Popeye as a kid and Crusader Rabbit was awesome as well. I really liked Bakshi’s Might Heroes too. I used to own a Courageous Cat bendy and played with it until the arms literally fell off. I also loved Top Cat and Kimba the White Lion which of course was utter crap but that along with Marine Boy were some of my favorites. Of course Bugs Bunny topped them all but that seems to be the norm for just about anyone.

I just have to ask, isn’t Bully for Bugs the best though???

I’m not quite as old but I love the cartoons you mentioned. I’m also a huge fan of Yogi Bear (which is on in my office right now), Top Cat and the Jetsons. And of course, let’s not forget Atom Ant, the Impossibles and Frankenstein Jr. Tom and Jerry were top notch afternoon fare as well as early Woody Woodpecker. Ah to be a kid again!

I loved cartoons like the ones you’ve mentioned. Too bad Boomerang NOR Cartoon Network doesn’t show them anymore!

I was always a fan of “Lariat Sam” on Capt. Kangaroo. With villians like Badlands Meany & Bushwhack, how can you go wrong?
