Dogstar! The trailer.
February 28th, 2006

Four or five weeks ago, Bronk & Bongo creators Alan Goodman & Manny Galan came by and made a pitch for their cartoon Dogstar.
And now, before we’ve seen the re-pitch, here comes this very sharp trailer.
Thanks guys.

Check your streaming settings in Quicktime. Or your instant-on box. Or your broadband congestion index. Or your CPU performance usage. Or some other damn thing. I get about 3 seconds, and it freezes dead. By the time this all downloads, we WILL be flying in ships like this. Trust us: it’s incredibly cool looking.

Hey guys, The quicktime movie plays well on my machine, but I’ve asked our crack team to look into your issues.

This was a character encoding bug. Fixed now. –David

This still isn’t working. Can you repost? I’m gettting the Quicktime icon with a question mark in it?

This looks beautiful. I’m already getting the flavor of the show. I can’t wait to see this air.

first off, i love the jumpy jingle! This is great, the characters have yet to speak, but they look funny as all heck! Any chance we can take a peek at some dialogue?

Love it! The ship is fabulous. And Elvin, what a great name for a character!
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
It’s great to see the ship I helped design in action. Saves me the trouble of building a physical model too.
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
I LOOOOOOOOVE THE WAY THIS LOOKS! The space ship is amazing, great colors and I love the names of the characters. This needs to be on tv for real! When can we see a full episode
?
The only word that comes to mind is DOPE!
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am

HEY EVERYONE, I need to be clear on this….this is just a pitch…sadly this has not been approved for development as of yet…and maybe not at all. I know, it’s sad…but please stay strong….we will get through this….and if enough of you chip in maybe we can all produce it together. Thanks for the support.
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
Looks incredible! Definitely keep us posted on when this goes on air!
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
Wow! Love the colors!! How much longer do we have to wait?!
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am

Talk soon!! -Steve

WOW! I’ve had trouble downloading this all day….but it was so worth it. Is this just a pitch or is it in legit development? And seriously are some of these people posting out of their minds? I’m assuming these are the most rabid band of cartoon lovers in the world or relatives….

Hey john, it’s just pitch but we are praying that FREDERATOR will give it a shot. Show your support and send all your letters to FREDERATOR and say you want DOGSTAR!
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
Looks so cool! Love the way it looks.

Alright, what’s the deal, is this a show already or just a pitch? Don’t most people just pitch with a sketch on a napkin? Who are you guys? Really? Fred? Alan? Manny? Is this going through? Is this in development already? I actually really love cartoons and I’d like a little more information than is actually on these posts. I can tell it’s about space and dogs, but what’s the angle? Who are you guys?

Hello Rebecca. I dont work at Frederator altho i would love to, but when you pitch, you make a storyboard of whats going on. A brief 30 pages mabye less, mabye more of whats going on with the seven minute short. Manny and Alan made a brief animation of their cartoon. They didnt yet re-pitch it, but this is just a video they wanted to show Fred Seibert (the man behind Frederator; hense the name FREDerator.) They dont yet know if this short is going threw, but they’re most certainly hoping it does. Not yet in development, but they have a blog for another cartoon they created an was accepted to called “Bronk and Bango”. Hope this answers your questions. If you want to read about Fred, you can go here ( http://www.frederator.com/seibertbio.php ) Take care! -Steve

Hi Rebecca, as the official spokesman for FREDERATOR STEPHEN LEVINSON explained, this is just a pitch…and yes I guess typically people only pitch with a sketch but in this instance my good friend JOHN SICILIANO over at Virtual Persuasion volunteered to do a little bit of CGI animation for our re-pitch. Alan and I have been so busy arguing over Bronk and Bongo that we haven’t had a chance to work out the details involved in our re-pitching but i couldn’t just sit on this awesome little movie any longer. Thanks for posting.

Love the look of the characters. They are very distinctive and interesting. Great selection on the theme song. It makes my arse move automatically. That is a good thing.
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
I would have to see you arse to be a judge of that….

I love the look of that spaceship. The colors are so crisp, and the jingle works really well with it. One question though: where can you buy Dog Fancy in a spaceship?…
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
Wow! That looks tight. The logo at the end is killer too. Manny - it was good catching up with you at the NYC con.
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
END, it was nice seeing you there too. And to everyone who stopped by our table and bought a comic or button or sticker I want to say thanks for your support. It was nice meeting you all.

Looks SUPER grand. Gonna wanna see more of this…Crank some more of this DOG stuff out!!!
Loven the ship shape!

In regards to DOG FANCY and where he gets it….CHEW CHEW has it delivered.
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
LOVE the way the “USS DOGSTAR” dodges the asteroids to the the beat of quirky music! (Admitedly, my shoulders shrugged repeatedly as I swayed left to right on my chair.) Wheeeeeeeeee…. so much fun! Does the Ship speak? Seems like the the engines under the belly of this beast are like clenched fists– as if to say, “you mess with Dogstar, you mess with the galazy!”… P.S. Chew Chew is SUPER cute!
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
The ship does speak…it has a sonic bark and they have a useless and very annoying distress signal. “YIPE! YIPE! YIPE! YIPE!”
And I wish I could take credit for making the music but I can’t, it’s a track from and old super marianation show.
On March 1st, 2006 at 12:00 am
This looks awesome…real smooth looking. Im all about a dog version of captain kirk.
On March 2nd, 2006 at 12:00 am
Hi Alaman or Manalan (whichever you prefer),
LOOKS 100% KICK-ASS. I love the idea of dogs crusing through the galaxy in a mean lookin’ spacecraft. What’s the premise? Are they crime fighters? Galactic peace keepers? Or just explorers? The paw logo at the end is hella cool.
On March 2nd, 2006 at 12:00 am
Hey Lisa, They are an intergalactic federation whose mission is, well not really clear….just wander space and be bored out of their minds! It’s 4 characters that have 4 different points of view and the dynamic between them is where the humor comes from…that and they run into all sorts of different interesting planets and entities. Like CHIA WORLD, the planet of irate Garden Gnomes, the all knowings Sphere of Knowledge and of course the MIRROR UNVERSE where every is and exact copy of each other except they have goateés! Brrrrr…scary…
On March 9th, 2006 at 12:00 am
WOW! Man it really looked amazing as the still art from the past posts but THIS takes it to the next level. The space stuff is, well, stellar! I can’t wait to see this on the small screen soon. Then the big screen.. then the DVD sales…
Sigh. I wish I could draw…
