Today I had a wonderful lunch with writer and performer Barry Yourgrau. Several years ago I’d produced a performance art series for HA! The TV Comedy Network (now Comedy Central) and I fell in love with Barry’s skewed voice. Our mutual friend Jim Halpern thought it might be nice for us to reconnect; he rightly thought I might be interested in an off-center look at stories for Oh Yeah! Cartoons.
Barry’s got a new kids’ book (his first actually; all his others are decidedly adult), an “extravaganza of dark mischief,” called NASTYbook. It’s pretty twisted, and maybe we’ll discover some interesting characters we’d like to work on together.
