A CG Frederator Tag

April 17th, 2008

Remember this? If you’ve seen any Frederator shows on Nickelodeon, then you’ve no doubt seen it more than a few times.

Fred asked us to come up with a CG production tag. He also mentioned he’d like to use the same audio if possible. This is actually a pretty tough project. The text has to read clearly, it has to be memorable, and it has to happen really quickly.

I started to think about other production tags that stick out in my mind.

I want to do something that shows depth, will look nice in HD, has the Fredbot, and uses the same audio as the other production tag.

Keep watching to see what we’re coming up with!

You could use those rivets as part of a closeup of the Fredbot’s head and pull out to reveal the logo.
The rivets being inserted by some fanciful electric tool
No doubt you’ve already considered that.

I like the current logo, but the thing is, it goes too fast to read the first time through. But then, you don’t want it to be too long. I do like the idea of using the actual Fredbot in it. I’m interested to see what comes about.

I agree with Niko, the current one reads way too fast. In fact, I first Googled “Federated Cartoons” before I was pointed in the right direction. I don’t envy you Floyd. Making a new tag isn’t an easy task, especially when it is expected to last for years. The Hanna-Barbera one is hard to beat though. Keep us posted.
