Flavio song!

October 6th, 2006

My friend Frank Buonocore who I grew up with back in Jersey (and where I get the name Mr. Frank) is a musician and way back in the day we used to jam together as a band called Bud Syndrome. Nothing too amazing but we had fun.

Over the years we lost touch but recently, we started emailing back and forth and whattayaknow? He came up with song based on Flavio!

I like it so much I want to see if I can somehow use a bit of it in the film! Probably a bit of the chorus for the title cards, which of course also means there’s not gonna be much of it there but I’d like to find some spot for it if the Powers That Be will allow it of course.

Anyway check it out HERE!

The lyrics are below! I hope you dig it too!

(oh and by the way, if you look closely you’ll notice Flavio’s latest invention is a mic that also doubles as a ballpoint pen for when singers have to sign autographs!

Gotta Go Flavio
by Frank J. Buonocore (2006),

Flavio u crazy goat, all I know is u got my vote
U don’t give up u always try, even though u don’t flip pie
U got a job and make cool stuff, but time slips by and u got to rush
Now’s the time u got to go, off to work and don’t b slow,

U gotta go Flavio, gotta go gotta go, get to work Flavio, gotta go don’t b slow, u gotta go Flavio!

Every day’s a brand new start, U wash the dishes and do your part
Searching for a better way, to improve our lives today
You’re rocking here and rolling there with your pack of friends that really care
U got a job to do and work on time, get out the door and you’ll be fine

U gotta go Flavio, gotta go gotta go, get to work Flavio, gotta go don’t b slow, u gotta go Flavio!

Everyday you got to get to work on time
Everyday you do your best, you’re doing fine!

First verse

Chorus 2X

OH YEAH!!
That is so cool!!

It is now on my iPod!
PLEASE keep it!! Well done!!

Thanks Jeff! I’ll Tell Frank you said so!

Its awesome, the music good to, but i think it would be better with a different singer.. this guy cant reach those notes.

You might be right Anonymous but no one else offered so I am pretty happy that he even took the time to do it for me.

…and actually I disagree with you after listening to it a few more times. It was never meant to be Mariah Carey. It’s a much different vibe but it does a great job of showing who Flavio is IMHO.

I think it sounds great. The notes are just fine, it has a certain organic, raw quality that is appealing. Reminds be of something out of the late 80’s. New millenium nostalgia.

Thanks Manny! Yeah, I think its a catchy tune…I’m finding myself whistling it throughoutnthe day which is good… but then I whistle the dang McDonald’s commercial theme too so I don’t know if that’s saying very much!

The lyrics are superb, couldn’t get any better, I wouldn’t change a word!!! I only wish I could have a seen a clip of the cartoon, to get a feel or vibe of the background of it, to know if it is truly a good fit…But if I had to base it off of just the music and lyrics I would say he is an upbeat, kind, free spirit, busy goat with lots happening in his life with work and good friends… So it seems like the perfect fit!!!!

Thanks Deana! That’s exactly it! I could not have said it better, In fact I didn’t! The song, at least for me, does a great job of looking inside to who Flavio is. I think Frank did such a good job because Flavio is essentially me younger (and cuter) and that’s exactly when Frank and I hung out so he has a lot of the same experiences as I do. As for seeing a clip of the cartoon, well believe me I’d love to see one myself! But I still have 34 more days until it comes back so that’s not gonna happen for a while. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts. I truly appreciate it!

YO PROFESSOR FRANKIE!

What happened to the line “Bada-bing Bada-Bam Bada-boom, Flavio” ??

That will be in the follow up song!

Song sounds great! Very catchy tune I’ve been singing the song all day and can’t get it out of my head.

Yeah me too actually.

” The upbeat melody and inspiring lyrics capture the true essence of Flavio. This song puts forth a very positive vibe. It’s uplifting. Flavio would be lost without his tune!”

Helpa me! Helpa me! I lost! =;>D

Hey, oh, ey! If ever there was a guy who needed his own theme song, its my good friend Flavio!

“Gotta go, gotta go!”

Awesome! To me its a bit more edgy James Taylorish. The beat and the melody are awesome, and the lyrics really capture Goatie-o to a T. I’ve been singing it all darn day!

Well done Mr. Frankie J, well done! Joisey boys always could carry a rockin’ tune…

Well you’re a bit biased there Cubesteak… You ARE from Joisey yourself… although you can’t carry a tune to save yer life! I oughta know… I AM your brother! Still, I thank you for your comments, ’cause it’s cool to hear what you think! Seems people like the song so that’s good.

Thanks Cubesteak. New Jersey rock & roll all the way!!!

Great upbeat song that stays in your head all day!! I love the positive messages in the lyrics, that we all need to hear more of, especially our kids. Frank and Mike (and Flavio too!), I think you have a hit!! Looking forward to seeing the cartoon!

Thanka you Susan! I gonna putta you onna Good Guy List for sure!

Hi! i am 12 years old and i have been watching cartoons for a while now! My mom played this song and i liked it a lot, i can definitely picture it on tv. I walked away and i started to sing it. It has good lyrics and who ever sang it is very talented.

Thanks Stephanie. I’m glad that you like the song. Especially when considering that you are an expert cartoon watcher. Keep on singing!

I love the song, it is very catchy. I was singing in all day. Good job.

Jersey represent! Big Frank James fan right here. I got the link to this page and listened to new release. It’s awesome. The lyrics are all there and has the light hearted melody a cartoon should have. His voice fits. The character is in a rock and roll band. The voice has have edge. I will jump on the band wagon and admit that I have been singing the chorus for days. Looking foward to seeing it someday. You got my vote.

Joey C. my # 1 fan! Thanks for your feedback.

Actually Joe, this is just a song that we might get a chance to use for the title of the short I am doing. I just drew a pic of FLavio singing it to have something to look at. But funny you should netion it, I always pictured Flavio would play an instrument just becasue he would invent odd ones like the Percussion Sax and the Electric Slide Claranet!

Love the song, its fun and energetic, and kids of all ages will be singing it for years to come. Keep up the great work.

Congratulations Frank on another great song, I really like it. I see you as a rising star in the music industry.

As a Life Coach, Speaker and Success Trainer in the personal Development Industry, I want to let everyone know that I have used Frank’s songs at my workshops. His music is tremendously inspiring and upbeat. We also decided to Use one of Franks songs on our upcoming Audio Book. Congratulations again Frank and keep up the good work.

Yeah I agree Don, Frank’s music IS inspiring, He gave me one of his CDs and when I listen to it it always makes me feel a little bit better. True story!

This song should be on a CD!! This is a great song!!

I LOVE IT
THE SONG STAY IN MY HEAD ALL DAY
GREAT JOB FRANK.

I don’t like my job, and it makes me want to go to work, especially on time! Just wondering the Flavio lunch box is coming out that plays the tune when you open it.

Lol… Great idea!!!

Well it sounds like everyone loves the song. That’s great! That’s what I am most proud of and what is most important. Song writing is what I love! I’ve been getting a lot of terrific feedback. I want to thank everyone for all of their comments. People young and older are singing “Gotta Go Flavio” and have been telling me how the song has been “stuck” in their heads.
As a side note the song posted is a demo. It was only meant for the ears of Mike, the producers and myself. When I write a song I record a demo. I played all the instruments, sing all the parts, write, arranged, recorded, mix and produced it at my house on my home studio equipment. It’s not perfect but it’s not supposed to be. It’s a demo to showcase the basics of the song. Mike liked the song so much that he asked me if he could post the demo and I said sure. The final version will be polished up and top notch.
So keep checking out the site and those comments coming. Thanks again!

Well said Frankie!

Love the song Frank! The tune just stays in my head and I want to keep singing it! It makes me feel happy! Great job!

I loved it! IMy roomate and I are singing it as I type.. It’s a catchy tune.. Good job Uncle cousin!!

Cool toon! Reminds me of that old Bud Syndrome classic “Wonderin’” ;) That tune has stayed in my head for nearly twenty years now!

Nice work!

Interesting comment Harry. Very astute of you to pick that up. I purposely wrote it with that same sort of feel.

Hahah! Wonderin’! Now THAT’S a long time ago! Man!
