The Gull Next Door (AKA Steven’s Seagull)

Here’s a whole lot of Lambe, Steve Lambe, for you. This seagull can be seen in many Fanboy episodes. The process of bringing it to screen started with Steve’s color concept below and went on to include the turnaround, expressions, and mouth chart, all from the hand of Lambe. If that weren’t enough, Steve then went on to compile a series of notes to help out the CG department in the animation of the bird’s feathers. The final image above got the painting treatment of Mr Chris Near. For a quick glimpse of the seagull in flight, watch the NOT FINAL version of the main title right here.
