Tag it, baby!
If you were at the lauch party Friday night, just tag your Flickr photos “fanboy and chum chum;” they’ll automatically feed over to “The Art of Fanboy and Chum Chum” tumblr. Then everyone can see what fools we were.

Hey, are you going to Comic-Con in San Diego this week? Well, if you are, you’re nuts. And, if you’re nuts you’ll want to swing by the big Nickelodeon booth (#4113) at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday to schmooze with Mr Eric Robles, the famous creator of Fanboy and Chum Chum. If you’re real nice, he’ll even sign one of these exclusive posters, above, for you (image not to size!).
The poster was roughed out by Eric and rendered by the Nick CG department before Chad Woods colored it and added the effects.

Here’s a paintover by Chad Woods from episode #116, “Secret Shoppers”. Chad says,
“A paintover is when you add something that’s missing in the final rendered shot that wasn’t modeled or built in cg. In this case the final rendered shot did not include the mayo and chili that Chum Chum is referring to. So, in this case I had to create assets that would fit seamlessly and be comped back into the rendered shot.”
Thanks, Chad.

Well, we had our first in-studio screening of Fanboy and Chum Chum yesterday afternoon. The showing - limited to just the crew but, as you can see, attracted many other folks, too - featured the very first completed episode, “Dollar Day”. Mr Eric Robles gave a little speech as well as two big thumbs up for the proceedings. There’s still no premiere date set, but look for the series to hit Nick sometime in the late summer/early fall.
Here’s filmmaker Kirsten Lepore stopping by Frederator to pose with Fanboy head honcho Eric Robles. Kirsten’s stop-motion Frederator end-tag will debut along with Fanboy and Chum Chum later this year.
Thanks for stopping by, Kirsten. And thanks, Eric, for being here twenty-three hours a day.

What do Mike Wallace, Billy Joel, Eric Robles, and Ghostface Killah all have in common? If you answered, “They’re all Shriners,” you’re only half right. The truth is they’re all celebrating birthdays today. So if you run into Mike, Billy, Eric, or Ghostface today, wish them a good one. And watch out, Robles. I’m catching up to you!

Hello all! Well, we had our very first internal network pitch and it went amazingly great! Thanks to the Amazing work of the Fanboy and Chum Chum crew we are starting on the right foot. It truly is exciting to see where the show is going with all the funny and talent people involved. The first episode was written by Steve Tompkins, directed by the very funny Brian Sheesley, storyboarded by the super talented Eddie Trigueros and overseen by Supervising Producer Shaun Cashman. We pitched in one of the smaller conference rooms, which would have been a bad thing if I would have had no laughs but it was a very funny room with the gags and story keeping everyone entertained. After the pitch we waited for the Network executives to debrief and they came out with smiles. So, we went out for some drinks to celebrate a very successful [Read more…]
Up next on our hit parade of Fanboy and Chum Chum crew members is the show’s supervising producer, Mr Shaun Cashman. While world famous for directing the original “Fanboy” short as part of Random! Cartoons back in 1923, Shaun can also tell you about his work on The Simpsons, King of Hill, Billy & Mandy, and Grim & Evil, for the last of which he co-won an Annie Award in the Best Directing in a TV Production category. He’s truly Eric Robles’s right-hand man on this series, and you couldn’t find a better guy for Team Fanboy. Wish him luck.

I don’t know if I’ll make the deadline for the Fredbot in the city that Fred ask me to do but here is a sketch I did this morning. I know, the robot is not exactly in the city other than a reflection in the snow globe thing but once I started sketching with my pen I couldn’t stop and there was no turning back.

Well its time for me to change offices again this week. I’m hoping my next move will be a bit more permanent. I’ve had two offices since I’ve started on Fanboy and Chum Chum so I thought I’d put up some pics. Enjoy!
