The “OG” Stuff

Yeah it’s been a minute. But I’m still alive! Eric here and things have been pretty busy here in the world of animation since Fanboy. I’ve been helping the folks over at Nick with a new Pre School show called Ni Hao Kai Lan and it’s so cute it makes my teeth hurt. Ouch! I’ve also been busy with some development at Disney and Saban so my time for blogging for Fanboy has been limited. But check out these very first roughs of Fanboy and Chum Chum boyz and girlz. Do GirlZ even check this stuff out?

Wow! The final is different form these drawings, but several elements made it through to the end product. It is very cool to see these. You should do a post about some of the design changes and why you chose to go in a different direction from some of the earlier designs. “Fan Boy” is one of my favorites from the Random set.

Thank you very much for the kind comment Floyd. These are my doodle sketches that I rarely show to anyone. I have tones of these kinds of sketches that I do for fun. These helped me get to the final designs on Fanboy and when I came across these recently they made me laugh so here they are.

I love these roughs and thumbnails. They have so much personality. Wondering what they “sound” like now. You can already feel thow they move. Looking forward to it.

Great job with Ni Hao Kai Lan i hope this becomes a long running series so much great elements to it!!!! keep up the great work!!!
