Why NYC?
Lets face it. Most animators are nerdy, awkward and anti-social. People can spend months and months working on a film that might only be seen by a handful of people. Drinking and Drawing is a chance for those geeky, black-rimmed-glasses-wearing, artists to come together and unite under the one thing they all have in common—-Drawing.
NYC is a perfect place to have Drinking and Drawing.
Here are some of the reasons why:
1. There are tons of bars.
3. Some of the best young animation students.
4. Lots of single women, Lots of Starving Artists.
5. ASIFA-EAST.
6. It’s not Boston.

Hi, Kenny. Not this round, but you’ve just inspired us to begin thinking about creating a long-distance animation jam. Any ideas? The only problem is you may have to do the drinking part alone.

Damn straight this ain’t Boston!

Hmmm. This sounds like a direct challenge to those of us from Boston. I believe we will need to respond with a similar event. Though, we don’t want to exactly copy your excellent idea of “Drinking and Drawing”, so I propose “Draw Me A Bath” in Boston. 100 Boston area animators will bathe together and at the same time create a one minute animated film. Hmmm. I just pictured that in my head. Maybe I’ll have to rework the idea a bit.

Lenny, even Boston can have D+D! Get in touch and we’ll give you the franchising download. Yes, even in Boston.

drinking and drawing has been going on in brooklyn for years as an organized event exactly like this, except in bars around the burg and not with corporations involved.
