Meth Minute 8-Bit
May 8th, 2008
This week’s cartoon is a bit of a departure. It’s the first one that I spent next to zero time animating! I got Ultra Kawaii’s Ben Ross to create an entire recap of the Meth Minute series in his ridiculously authentic 8-Bit style. Then I got his musical equivalent, Niko Anesti, to redo a couple MM39 songs in arcade sound. Bam! We got ourselves a unique cartoon:

Dude, Dan, this episode turned out amazing! I loved the idea of going through all of the previous Meth Minutes in arcade format, and seriously, some of them look like they would be a lot of fun, haha! The quick pace kind of reminds me of the WarioWare series; I could definitely see this being made into an actual game like that. Some of my favorites were the Ultra and the Lazerhearts Guitar Hero style, the Dance Dance Watermelon Nights, the King’s Quest-like parodies for The Craigs and Space Cowboy, and Sid and Nancy itself…that just looked really fun to me, hahaha. Man, that was great, and I’m glad I could help out!
Looking forward to next week’s too, of course, to see all the different styles of animation. I did submit mine a second time, but I haven’t gotten word if it made it through or if something went wrong again. If you can, please let me know if you got it or not, I’ve been worrying about it not making it in, heh..

“Nasty Prism Attack!” was my favorite line of all. Please, please tell me we’re going to be able to buy Wang Warriors shirts like Dan’s soon! I’ve been praying a shirt would be made for MM39, and I think that would be the ideal design. Also: Will the song from the 8-Bit episode be available for download one of these Mondays from now?

Dan, I enjoyed the recap, and the “points” and arcade theme spiced it up some. I missed your animation and your wit though, to be honest. Come back to us.
