As I mentioned in a previous post, the newest Meth Minute cartoon was written as a comic book when I was in eighth grade. It’s been in the works as an animated cartoon since 1991.

Here’s some shots that compare the original art to the accompanying recent recreations. I had fun breathing new life in the characters while assistant Daisy Edwards drew the backgrounds and architecture.

Looks like a dream come true. I need to go digging through my old stash to see what comes up. It’s fun to dig up old stories and be able to bring new life into them. Especially when you dreamed about it as a kid. I used to draw my own little comics in class and think they were the shit.

Thought it was good then and can see it’s going to be totally awesome now.

I always thought Space Cowboy was one of your most clever and interesting creations. Glad to see a reprise so many years later. The Early works of Dan Meth are re-cyclable and can be morphed into new life; you worked on that series for quite a while if I remember. If there is one thing that has been consistent in the entire story board that is your life, it is your fanciful, futuristic, and always creative output. Can’t wait to see Space Cowboy Redux!

I like that these cartoons came out of those dark days we were locked away in the corner of the basement of Bell School, trying to fend-off an English teacher that wore a lab coat while both salivating after Ali Mann. Dark days indeed…. great drawings though!
