Behind the Scenes of “Watermelon Nights”
In July, I got to spend two beautiful summer days outside in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park… but it was still “work.” At the end of it, I had the Meth Minute 39 cartoon “Watermelon Nights” to show for it.
Assistant director Lee Rubenstein had the foresight to take these behind the scenes photos.
Best Boy Josh Weisbrod looks on.
What do you do when an actors dies on set?
The “live shots” were accomplished by sticking the melons on broken broom handles and then turning them in a circle. It’s like Industrial Light and Magic.
Fixing an eyeball.
Me and the actors at the end of a long day’s shoot.

You must have gotten very close to those melons. Looking at their smiling faces, they look like the partying type.
