Meth Minute in “New York Magazine”
Wow, this is really something else. The chosen periodical of chic Manhattan sophisticates, New York Magazine, has written up The Meth Minute 39 series in an article about online cartoons. Hometown boy makes good. The headline says “Animators Have Never Had It So Good” and they are right about that!
Here’s what they said:
_____________________________________
“In one episode of Dan Meth’s surreal series on odd subcultures (at danmeth.com), a young Mike Tyson joins the Sunday brunch crowd; in another, two geeks argue over who’s the biggest Led Zeppelin fan, until the winner gets abducted in a lead zeppelin. The first series, Internet People, a tour through the world of Web stardom, became a viral phenomenon itself.”
Thank you New York Magazine!

“faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound” … ok it’s NY Magazine. But it’s an accomplishment none the less.

Dude, that’s awesome! It’s amazing that it’s so recognizable after so little time! Hell, I’ve been going for almost 6 years now and it hasn’t even made it into blogs, haha. Seriously though, that’s exciting!

I’m not that chic or sophisticated, but I read the thing just to know what people are thinking about. I hadn’t heard of half the things they covered in that issue. So I bet you’ll get some new fans who like me are web-exhausted and only have time to find out about stuff from magazines.
Next stop, Wired.
