Here’s the odd story of how we made the theme-song for “Ultra and the Lazer Hearts”
In August I got the idea to make a Jem parody, and for weeks I walked around composing the melody and lyrics in my head. When I was sure it was complete, I recorded this acapella sketch and took it to my friend Micah Frank, the musical master who made Internet People such a hit. Micah took my off-key warblings and built it into a real song. Then we got Next New Network’s own Patty DeArteaga to come in and belt out the lyrics. Here is the outrageous result.

While Micah was working on the music, I painted a trippy alien-fish-bug mural on his studio walls. Here’s a step-by-step progression of the progress with Micah working on the “Ultra” song in the foreground.
