Vh1’s Best Week Ever, the un-official roundup of all that’s fun and fleeting has given props my cartoon “Internet People” on their site today. Check it out:

Funny Internet Video Musically Rehashes The Short History Of Funny Internet Videos

Considering The Internet as we know it hasn’t even reached its terrible teens yet, and mainstream Viral Video is still stumbling around in its “Chocolate Rain”-soaked diapers, a video retrospective of the most notorious wacky “Internet People” seems sort of premature and unnecessary. But that being said, this little clip is well done and comprehensive enough for it to be amusing all the same. Though unfortunately, it might have been able to achieve True Greatness had they given us what we REALLY wanted: to see four shirtless cartoon characters humping an animated ottoman.

Frederator’s ‘Meth Minute 39′ Launches with an Ode to ‘Internet People’
Dan Meth is bringing Inernet Pepole to, well…Internet people.

Discovered and signed in 2006 by animation heavyweight Fred Seibert to develop new projects for the cartoon world famous Frederator Studios, Meth is an up-and-coming, almost-there animator extraordinaire from the suburbs of New York City behind such talented works as the lovelorned intellectual Annie Mated and the fat cat music vid to The Beat Generation.

Today, Meth significantly expanded his portfolio with the much anticipated launch of Federator Studios’ first online series, Meth Minute 39.

Meth’s first of 39 weekly installments is a simple, well-versed ode to web video that will clearly conjure aural connections to “We Didn’t Start Fire,” and is just as much of a genius marketing ploy as it is entertainment. In just over three minutes, Meth has encapsulated and animated five years of [Read more…]

Digg digs Internet People.

A letter from our colleague Jared:

“(number one seat, wheat from the chaff, dan won the internet.)

“seems to be kickin’ ass and takin’ names (or metrics, whatever). and if you feel like it, read the responses, they’re pretty damn funny and much more thought out than the people that just bash their head against the keyboard and call it a sentence over on youtube. (protip: the konami code “up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-B-A-enter” will open all responses to responses on digg…so yeah, um, did i mention that digg is the Nerd Castle of the information superhighway?) enjoy the geekfest they’re having, comment if you have an account. and if you get dugg down, treat it like getting de-friended by somebody on myspace.”

People are soo weird.
Our first “internet Person” claiming to be in Dan’s Animation. He claims to be the person mentioned in the “talking to their webcams” section.
It does look like him a little, maybe I just need to go to bed. (it was 2 am when wrote this)
Maybe you guys can respond with YES, NO, or MAYBEs in the comments section! Thoughts?

Meth Minute 39 Launch Party

Last night we had raucous party here at Frederator to kick off the launch of “The Meth Minute 39″ series. I invited everyone who played any part in the creation of the show so far.

This included dozens of folks who performed the voice dialogue for many of my cartoon characters. I couldn’t help but look around and see their cartoon counterparts floating with them. So that’s exactly what I did with these party photos All the characters you see will be featured in upcoming episodes of “The Meth Minute”
