Hear the Humor
A cartoon is 50% visuals and 50% sound. Without quality voices, sound fx, and music the cartoon is pretty much guaranteed to suck. Luckily I know alot of talented folks who are brilliant in the art of audio. Here’s a couple people who’ve been helping to make “The Meth Minute 39″ sound funny.
Here’s Micah Frank of Mek Music. Whenever I need a catchy pop song I go straight to him. In the spirit of Lieber/Stoller and Bacharach/David, he supplies the incredibly hooky music to my lyrics. Without Micah, my Kosher.com and Live Natty cartoons would have been pretty blah.
Here’s the previously mentioned Mark Vitelli of W222 studios, who’s been adding his amazing sound effect design to “The Meth Minute 39″ as well as contributing voices aplenty.
Here I am with Matt Dorfman recording some improvised dialogue for a new cartoon. We are portraying two incredibly nerdy music dorks (what a stretch) trash-talking about their classic rock knowledge. Matt was hilarious in front of the mic and it will be really fun to animate it. He’s also a great illustrator who I mentioned on a previous blog post.
And these two should be no strangers to the Frederator community. Justin Johnson and Marissa Nystrom have starred in countless Channel Frederator promos and are as funny offscreen as they are on-screen. Justin supplies the hysterical voice for the bully older brother Beef in “Beef and Stu”. Marissa is playing a snobby woman in an upcoming “The Meth Minute 39″ cartoon about brunch. A master promoter you are, Dan Meth. Building suspense and expectation to the point that we’re drooling all over ourselves in anticipation of finally being entertained by and laughing out loud to “The Meth Minute 39″. Can’t wait ………….
