Radical Cute

To celebrate Halloween, here’s a glimpse at little Doom Kitty from the gloomiest show I know, YTV and Nelvana’s “Ruby Gloom: Happiest Girl in the World.” I’m proud to serve as exec prod of this gem of a show along with creators, Mighty Fine. Thanks to the crew for giving Ruby and her pals such a great playground. I love every episode! For more info on Ruby, check out YTV.

If you are looking for a very cute, very addicting time waster, I highly recommend EYEZMAZE. The graphics and animation in the games are very cute and VERY impressive, especially for a one-person operation. Go there now! You have the whole weekend ahead of you!

While Studio Espionsa is a company specializing in all kinds of characters, they sure do know how to make the cute ones! Check out their website to see the wide array of cuteness that they make. My favorites are Kris Kros Apple Sauce (above) and the Sushi Pack. - Carrie

If there was an award for the most Radical Cute, it would have to go to Joe Ledbetter. Joe is a Los Angeles native and self-taught artist who is making his mark in the art world with a unique and unmistakable style. His character driven work consists of cute creatures that manage to make destructive and disturbing adult behavior seem almost innocent.

In honor of Halloween, here’s one of my favorite webtoons: Making Fiends by Amy Winfrey (creator of Muffin Films and Big Bunny). The shorts are about the evil Vendetta, who creates mean “Fiends” to scare the other children; and sweet li’l Charlotte, who invariably tames them.

Artist Anand Duncan has created a cute flash site called FlashBunny.com. Not only does the site show off her talented portfolio but it also offers the viewers some adorable animations and fun flash games.

Check out the incredibly cute works of illustrator and character designer Anna Chambers. She had done work for Fosters, Grim and Evil, Futurama, and has a line of adorable handmade plush dolls that can be purchased on her site.
