Yup, it was a tough day on the Stock Exchange. So here’s an appropriate cartoon: “Unnatural History of Wall Street”. It’s second in the series “Concrete Jumble” by Gary Leib for The New York Times website. Click here to watch it. What does this mean for your 401K? I have no idea. If things get really bad, I will have to sell my jewels (kitty kat pins from the1950s’s.)

Comic book artist and funky animation whiz Gary Leib has a short currently playing on The New York Times website: a fluid and funny visual riff about how the meatpacking district has changed over the years. Gary emailed me to say that this is the first in a series of four original cartoons. “Each piece is about a minute long, and is a very personal take on different parts of New York.” Gary runs Twinkle, a flash animation production company. He’s produced animation for the American Splendor movie and They Might Be Giant’s Dr. Worm video. He also co-created the comic book series Idiotland (with Doug Allen). Click here to enjoy sundry creatures, human and otherwise, cavorting through the centuries.
