It’s That Time Again!

It’s time for the Cartoon of the Month prize to go out! I’m excited to announce that Gabe Swarr’s What the Shell?!?! is our April Winner! What the Shell?!?! is a perfect example of what happens when a particular Koopa Trooper gets fed up with Mario’s squashing antics. The results change Mario forever!

“Sub” by Jesse Schmal voted December’s Cartoon of the Month!

The results are in, and it looks like “Sub” by Jesse Schmal is December’s winner. Check it out on Channel Frederator Episode 62. Quite a trip.

So Jesse, how did you come up with the idea behind “Sub”?

“The idea was made from lifting several characters and props from the sketchbooks I made during a year in Rome for school. I’m very insecure and inexperienced when it comes to writing anything resembling a script, so I basically took the characters I thought I’d have the most fun drawing and put them all in one place. The submarine being little and coming out of the fountain….hmm….I think I had a submarine drawing that turned into a moth or something. Moths are small, right? Right. I know, weird. But then the mini-submarine became this link between all the characters, and I figured out what each character would do with the submarine to get themselves [Read more…]

A hearty congrats goes out to Austin Madison for hisCal Arts film, “The Ending”, which not only won the Student Choice Award of this year’s CalArts Producer’s Show, but has now won Cartoon of the Month as voted by Channel Frederator viewers far and wide. It comes as no surprise that Austin and his talented-ness has been snapped up by Pixar. For those of you who caught my previous Dreamworks blooper, thank you.

“Plumber” Wins February’s Cartoon of the Month!

Congratulations are awarded to Red Rover Studios for scoring the first EVER Cartoon of the Month award. Their February submission of “Plumber” on Episode 18 scored a 4.2 out of 5 points.
