Super Dee Dooper Steve Stark

Animator of strange and hilarious things Steve Stark brings us more strangeness and hilarity in this week’s episode with his short “Goat Away”. Here is a strange and hilarious interview with him.

Channel Frederator: Where did you study animation?

Steve Stark: I took a small course at Quickdraw Animation Society in 2001 or so and then went to VFS in 2004. My grad film was “Super Dee Dooper Giraffe”. (Which was lucky enough to end up on good old episode 19 of Channel Frederator. Yay Frederator! Woohoo!)

CF: What has influenced your work the most?

SS: Back in the day, I used to lie like a whale on the couch watching tons of the The Simpsons, Ren & Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead and the Spike and Mike Sick and Twisted Shorts. I still love those cartoons. They’re gold I tells ya!

CF: Can you tell us about any upcoming projects?

SS: I sure can!

CF: Hooray!

I just finished up a 7 part limited animation series which I’m going to be putting out there soon.

I’m writing and pitching around “Turducken: The Series” which will hopefully come to a TV near you.

This cartoon was written by Stephen Kan-Hai and Myself and I have another one we wrote on the go. (This one deals with a horse).

Other than that I am super excited about some short ideas I have that deal with hand drawn, stop-motion and even some of that live action stuff. Fun fun!

CF: Goats are annoying and deserve removal - what is one thing you wish you take a pill for and make disappear? I would love a chewable tablet that made stand-up comedians from the ’90s incapable of telling relationship jokes.

SS: Damn…there goes my 90’s relationship bit.

The one thing I would make disappear with a pill? Condors! Oh wait…extinct. The Dodo bird! Wait… I can do this…..Dinosaurs!!

You get an A for effort! Thanks for the interview, Steve!
