Daniel Luke Haunts Our Blog

Me on Monday
Daniel Luke

Daniel Luke’s film “Late Return”, featured this week on Channel Frederator, is about the never-ending battle between man and late fees. Here he chats with us about his education, inspiration, and what’s worth haunting you for.

Channel Frederator: Where did you study animation?

Daniel Luke: I did year 12 media and a Certificate 2 & 3 VET Multimedia at Catholic Regional College Drysdale, then spent a fantastic three years completing a Bachelor of Animation and Interactive Media at RMIT University Melbourne. A big thank you to all my teachers and lecturers ever, I wouldn’t know nothin’ without you!

CF: Who or what has inspired your work the most?

DL: Gromit from Wallace and Gromit. There’s something about communicating though body language that I believe touches us all on a universal level, and that character in particular has always been (at least in my mind) one of the best.

Late Return

CF: Do you have any cool upcoming projects you can tell us about?

DL: Well it’s still early days, but there’s some potential awesome going down in Melbourne.

CF: Is there anything you’d come back from the grave to do?

DL: I’d probably start by trying to resuscitate myself, self preservation being pretty high on my list and all. Failing that I’d have to say I’d haunt MP3 players so they only played the Thomas the Tank Engine theme! Mwoo-ha-hah-ha-ha!

Thanks, Daniel!
