Good Luck Cap’n Thurop!

Inspired by Eric’s post, here’s a piece of Flapjack Fan Art I created for my pal and ol’ Cubicle Buddy: Thurop Van Orman, creator of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.
It premieres tomorrow and I hope the world over loves it just as much as I did when I first caught glimpses of it back at Calarts.
Congrats are in order for Thurop and the Flapjack team, and kudos go out to Cartoon Network for being willing to include something as bold, original, and beautiful in their programming.
As these art pieces from the show illustrate.
Color by Jessica Yost.
Good Luck Thurop. We here at Frederator are all rooting for you.

Haha, that’s an awesome statue. Usually 3D renditions of 2D characters bother me, but that looks great. I’ve caught a few clips of Flapjack on Cartoon Network Video and a few other places, it looks pretty good to me. I’ll definitely be checking it out.

This is going to be another Courage. A brilliant show, in terms of visuals and seems to be sophisticated in terms of humor. I hope it “makes it”, but with the low-brow crap that Cartoon Network is airing (Ben 10 and all the other formula animation), this is going to go straight over the average viewers head… not to be doom and gloom and all, but bet it would have had a better reception on another network other than Cartoon Network.
