Blue Sky Studios to leave New York and move to Connecticut

January 11th, 2008

New York will be saying “Goodbye Blue Sky” sometime this year, as Blue sky Studios leaves the Westchester One in White Plains, NY and relocates to the Greenwich American Centre in Greenwich, CT.

The growing of the studio combined with the tax incentives that Connecticut now offers are most likely the two deciding factors in the move. In 2006 the Connecticut General Assembly passed a law that establishes a tax credit equal to 30% of qualified digital media and motion picture production, pre-production and post-production expenses incurred in Connecticut that exceed $50,000.
