Kaelou
Shawn, a friend of mine sent me this awesome 3D film called Kaelou which was directed by a man named RĂ©mi Chapotot and animated by a studio called Cube in Paris. The guy is a freakin’ genius! I have no idea what they’re saying as it’s in French but man is it eye candy to look at! It’s like a frantic Over the Hedge. The combination of 2D bgs and 3d characters lit so well really blends nicely. I also like how they use 2d elements like smoke to give it a unique look as well. If all 3d looked like this it would be quite tasty wouldn’t you say?

Fantastic! I didn’t understand it as all but I was pleased to see the duck survived in the end.

The US needs to get with the freakin’ program!
I noticed a lot of the effects, like smoke or drops, were animated in 2D. Makes you wonder why the need for 3D exists, other than to enhance what is already there in 2D.

I love the technical execution of this piece. I wish they would put together a “making of” of some sort…
